Dear Parents and Guardians:

Clever R-V School District places the safety and well-being of our students and staff as one of our top priorities. There has been much focus recently regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the news, and we want to take this opportunity to again reinforce preventive safety measures and reference our process and communications.

First, it is important to remember that at this time, no cases have been reported in Missouri.  Our district is closely monitoring the situation for updates, and if we receive any new recommendations from the county, state or federal health agencies, we will pass that information along to you. For more information about the coronavirus, visit www.health.mo.gov/coronavirus.

In the meantime, we urge all families to continue to maintain healthy habits as we do during any cold and flu season. Steps you can take to prevent spread of flu and the common cold will also help prevent coronavirus. Families can support these efforts by:

  • Washing hands often with soap and water

  • Keeping children home if they are sick with fever, muscle aches and chills, sore throat, diarrhea or vomiting

  • Children should be kept home until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication

  • Minimizing contact with others who are ill

  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, especially when someone is ill

We are still seeing cases of both influenza A and B in our district, so we would like to emphasize the importance of keeping your student home until they have been fever free for 24 hours. Keeping children home when they are sick is critical to prevention.

Sincerely,

Mr. Benjy Fenske

Superintendent
